Paris Hilton quoted Marilyn Monroe as she took to Instagram on Monday to address her split with fiance Chris Zylka.

The 37-year-old socialite posted a GIF of herself styled like Marilyn with starry effects, affixing the sentiment from the Hollywood icon.

'My favorite Marilyn Monroe quote,' she wrote: 'I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right.'

The quote hinted at possible trust issues in the relationship, as it continued, 'You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.'


The news was shared on Monday morning by JustJared.  'They broke up and called off their engagement earlier this month,' a source close to the 37-year-old reality star and 33-year-old actor told the site.

'Their relationship started to become off-kilter after about two years together,' the source added.
