Woman Shot Dead By Cultists... Police Nab The Killers

The Imo State Police Command has arrested two persons in connection with the alleged killing of a woman, Emmanuela Anemele, from the Oguta Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi said the suspects were arrested during an operation led by the Commander of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the state command, Mr Victor Geoffrey.

Galadanchi told Southern City News that the arrest of the suspects was the result of the resolve of the command to ensure that no crime perpetrator was allowed to walk free.

The police boss said the operation was carried out by F-SARS operatives in conjunction with local vigilance members in the Oguta LGA.

He gave the names of the suspects as 23-year-old Livingword Okororie and Ugochukwu Okonkwo, 22.

The commissioner of police added that the victim was on October 21 shot dead by hoodlums, a situation that caused panic in the area.

He said that following the murder, he activated the Tactical Unit of the command with the help of the community policing strategies of the Inspector-General of Police, which his command was implementing, to nab the suspects.

Galadanchi said, “On October 24 at Oguta 1 Trinity junction, F-SARS operatives led by its commander, Godfrey Victor, together with local vigilance members, arrested one Livingword Okororie, 23, and Ugochukwu Okonkwo, 22, in connection with murder of one Mrs Emmanula Anemele.

“It is important to note that on October 21, the woman, who hailed from Oguta LGA, was shot dead by unidentified hoodlums and carted away money and some other valuables.”

He added that investigation and confessional statements made by the suspects revealed that they were members of the Aceland Confraternity, which had been terrorising the locality.

Galadanchi said the suspects confessed that they masterminded the killing with another suspect, who came in from Anambra State, with a gun on the night the woman was murdered.
