Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital suspends solidarity visitations to patients to curb COVID-19

The Management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has temporarily suspended solidarity visitations to patients on admission in the hospital.

The action was a proactive measure to prevent and curb the spread of coronavirus in the hospital in case of any eventuality.

“The management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) wishes to inform the general public and  those whose relations are currently receiving treatment on admission that visitation to such patients have been temporarily suspended as part of measures to curtail the spread of Corona virus in the state and the country at large”.


A statement issued late yesterday by the Acting Director, Information Department, AKTH, Hajiya Hauwa Abdullahi said The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe made the declaration during a meeting with the top management staff of the Hospital today Monday at the Board Room of the hospital.

He said that during this period only a relation at once will be allowed to stay within the hospital premises in case of need by the patient. He was also cited as saying, “patients coming to the hospital for outpatients’ services are also advised to desist from coming to the hospital with escort(s) in order to decongest the hospital as well as the service areas.”
