The preview of Chadwick Boseman’s final film has reportedly been cancelled by Netflix after the actor died aged 43.

The Black Panther star tragically died following a battle with colon cancer, with his family announcing the devastating news on Saturday.

Chadwick’s final film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, is set to be released this year – although a virtual preview was due to be held on Monday.

Although following the news of the actor’s death Netflix has reportedly decided to postpone the event until a later date.

‘We are heartbroken over today’s news of the passing of Chadwick Boseman, a “true fighter” as his family called him in their poignant tribute,’ a Netflix spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

‘This is an incredible loss. We are cancelling Monday’s preview event of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Please join us in sending your thoughts to his.’

The actor is known for his iconic roles in the likes of Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, 21 Bridges and Da 5 Bloods, and had also finished filming on the adaptation of the 1982 play by August Wilson.

Starring alongside Viola Davis, Chadwick plays Levee, one of Ma Rainey’s (Davis) band players, a trumpeter who dreams of having his own band.

The film will also star Colman Domingo, Glynn Turman, Jonny Coyne, Taylour Paige, and Michael Potts.
